eclectic artists' residence in los gatos , ca

This project was in need of a complete makeover. The house had great bones and a ton of natural light, but the finishes were extremely dated. The original kitchen was a galley style kitchen and there wasn’t any space for hosting guests. I ended up adding about 400 sf to the living space, which included a new chef’s kitchen and a home office/guest room. I demo’d some walls and opened up the living space to be less compartmentalized and more usable as a great room. This allowed for ease of coming together as a family and entertaining guests. The finishes, furniture and art all lend themselves to an eclectic aesthetic, with an added element of whimsy.
